With the aim of improving the collaboration between Caritas Rwanda and the diocesan Caritas, the staff of Caritas Rwanda and Caritas Nyundo-Kibuye held a meeting on Thursday July 13, 2023.
During this meeting, there were presentations on the activities of Caritas Rwanda’s projects and programs operating in the Diocese of Nyundo-Kibuye, so that all employees can better understand what’s going on. As Fr Oscar Kagimbura, Secretary General of Caritas Rwanda, explained, the purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the good collaboration between the two Caritas. “This meeting aims to strengthen the good collaboration between Caritas Rwanda and Caritas Nyundo-Kibuye. We want to improve it because we all share the same bond”, Father Oscar Kagimbura said.
Father Oscar Kagimbura called on everyone present in the meeting to behave well, and to be honest in what they do in order to promote the good image of Caritas.
During the meeting, Caritas Rwanda projects and programs operating in the diocese of Nyundo-Kibuye presented their activities so that all employees could get to know and understand them better. As explained by Fr Oscar Kagimbura, Secretary General of Caritas Rwanda, the aim of this meeting was to strengthen the good collaboration between the two Caritas. “This meeting aims to reinforce the good collaboration between Caritas Rwanda and Caritas Nyundo-Kibuye. We want to improve it because we all share the same bond,” said Father Oscar Kagimbura.
Father Oscar Kagimbura asked all present staff to behave well and to be honest in what they do to promote the good image of Caritas.
The staff of the two Caritas testified to how they collaborate.Among the examples, there are the fact that the staff of Caritas Rwanda’s projects collaborate with the parish priests in conducting each of their activities and sending reports to the diocesan Caritas. In addition, they elaborate together the report which is sent to the partners of the District of Karongi (JADF Kibuye).
Father Elie Hatangimbabazi, the Director of Caritas Nyundo-Kibuye, said that having varied projects in the diocese of Nyundo-Kibuye is a blessing, as they help the diocese to provide for people in need.
He, however, asked that emphasis be placed on sharing information. “When a new project is implemented in the diocese, it is important to have information about it, as Christians sometimes ask us a lot of questions that we are not always able to answer. Christians do not know the difference between Caritas Rwanda and diocesan Caritas, which is good because we are one”, said Fr Elie Hatangimbabazi.
