Hi, How Can We Help You?

Noella / Rubavu

My dream is to become a professional chef in a world class hospitality firm. Gimbuka Program is helping me achieve that.

‘’I am passionate about culinary arts. I am grateful to the Gimbuka Program for having offered me an internship opportunity through which I have learnt a lot. I can now cook the Provencal sauce, all sorts of rice, fries and so much more’’. Says Tumushime Noella, 18 years’ old beneficiary of the USAID Gimbuka Program.

Tumushime is supported by the program, which has arranged for her internship at Centre d’Accueil Saint François d’Assise, located in Rubavu District. The program takes care of her living expenses as well and regularly visits her, to know the challenges that she faces and find ways of supporting her. Tumushime dreams of becoming a professional chef and working in a world class hospitality business.

Since 2012, the USAID Gimbuka Program has been implemented by Caritas Rwanda under the USAID-Caritas Rwanda Cooperative Agreement. Caritas Rwanda/USAID Gimbuka’s investments aim to improve Rwandans’ health, education, and nutritional status in order to accelerate Rwanda’s progress to middle-income status and a better quality of life through sustained growth and poverty reduction.
